Cartouche of S.C. faintly visible on left side of stock by side plate, we believe this is a marking for SOUTH CAROLINA placed on the musket by the Confederate state before the U.S. Civil War. Research has revealed that on 17th May 1850 the Waters Company invoiced Wm. H. Smith & Co. for 761 such muskets and shipped them to Glaze & Radcliffe for the State of South Carolina.
Butt plate marked US. Ramrod is present, and barrel is good, with pitting surrounding the breech, hammer and bolster. Hammer cocks back strongly and is mechanically sound.
NOTE: International orders of antique firearms MUST be shipped using UPS WW Services (courier). USPS Priority Mail international will not accept these.
